Clough - A New Start

"They'd never met somebody like him - and they've never met somebody like him since. He was a one-off."

Author Chris Hull talks about some of the players at Hartlepools when Brian Clough began his managerial career.

From his fund-raising exploits, to training on the beach and his initial reluctance to leave for Derby, you'll hear how Cloughie tackled a range of new challenges and created a recipe for success - or 'Alchemy' as Chris describes it.

That's also the title of Chris' book looking back at Clough's first steps into management. 'Alchemy' - the story of Clough and Taylor's time at Hartlepools - is published by The History Press.
